EXPO 2005 Highlights

 

If you missed the Hearth, Patio & Barbecue EXPO in Atlanta, you missed one of the largest and best EXPOs ever.

  • Over 12,000 people attended
  • Canadian attendance was 1280, including 785 exhibitors and 495 attendees, or 10.6% of the overall attendance
  • 440 Exhibiting Companies
  • First-time for Indoor Burning Booths with 9 companies participating
  • Largest Outdoor Burn Area ever with 70,100 sq ft - that's 22,700 more than last year
  • 2005 Vesta Award Winners sponsored by Hearth & Home (see sidebar item)
  • HHOT! Hearth Hands on Training
    The Hearth Education Foundation offered HHOT Hearth Hands-On Training sessions for the first time at EXPO 2005. Over 200 industry members participated in the 6 three hour sessions held on the show floor with 14 volunteer industry coaches on hand, including Zigi Gadomski and George Leblanc. 20 different hands-on activities were covered from beginner to experienced levels. Participants were very impressed with the program and felt it was well worth the $89 fee.

  • HGTVpro filmed all three days of the show
  • DIY Network conducted over 30 interviews on the show floor for a five part barbecue series.
